The vision of the Open Access Lab (OA Lab) is to
- develop Open Access publication opportunities tailored to the needs of researchers
- support publisher-independent OA publishing
...as well as to share the existing expertise in the development of "scholar-led" online journals (Diamond OA) in specific areas:
- publishing in various formats (PDF/HTML/XML)
- developing innovative features (linking text/footnotes/illustrations)
- integrating various media in text-based publications (images, video and audio files)
- providing for metric visibility of dissemination, independent of publishing platforms (download statistics)
The OA Lab aims to:
- pool the existing expertise in the field of OA publishing within the Faculty of Humanities
- offer advice on existing as well as newly developed solutions for OA publication projects
- promote exchange in the area of OA between the Faculty of Humanities, the Open Science Team at the University Library, and other faculties
