The OA Lab's services are primarily aimed at:
- editors of existing or newly founded academic journals that are to be published online and in OA (Diamond)
- researchers in search of innovative OA publication platforms that are not yet offered by established publishers
The OA Lab offers consulting on:
- Establishing new OA journals: workflow design, hosting platforms, etc.
- Developing individual “flipping” strategies for existing journals
- Identifying technical and organizational development opportunities for OA journals
- Assistance with applications for inclusion in metrics-based indices (DOAJ, EBSCO, SCOPUS, Web of Science, Arts and Humanities Citation Index...)
- Image management: image rights and OA, communication with libraries, archives and museums
What the OA Lab does not offer:
- Data Management/Databases
- Hosting, repositories
- Provision of software
- Advice on publication strategies (SNF), publication contracts, funding opportunities, legal issues
- Advice on APCs/BPCs
